Application Engineering Director

Location: Farmington Hills, Michigan, United States; 3-day onsite hybrid schedule

What you will do

• Lead application engineering teams delivering web applications, APIs, and PL/SQL and ODI integrations.
• Modernize technical architecture, application capabilities, development practices, and platforms.
• Own an organizational application development process such as DevOps, Agile, Scrum, scaled Agile, or RPA.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define business success factors, service levels, risks, and performance measures.
• Manage delivery across design, development, testing, and maintenance, including staffing, resources, budgets, and customer satisfaction.
• Develop engineering talent, succession plans, inclusive culture, and continuous improvement practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 10 years of application development experience and 3 years of leadership experience.
• Experience with modern cloud-native development models, integration architecture, and centralized engineering support for multiple development teams.
• Experience with enterprise DevOps, including Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery.
• Knowledge of web application development, APIs, and API gateway strategies.
• Strong strategic, analytical, communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and project management skills.

Nice to have

• Insurance industry experience.
• Experience with Salesforce, customer portals, and digital transformation technologies.
