Director - Software Engineering (AI)

Location: Omaha, Nebraska, United States; hybrid with 50% of work performed in the office

What you will do

• Lead multiple software engineering managers and their Agile delivery teams.
• Drive cloud transformation, platform modernization, and modernization of legacy systems.
• Improve software delivery maturity, engineering effectiveness, automation, and operational excellence.
• Advance cloud-native architectures, platform engineering practices, and observability.
• Enable responsible adoption of AI across the software development lifecycle.
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders in a highly matrixed enterprise environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of related software engineering experience, including supervision of managers.
• Strong understanding of software engineering delivery models, SDLC practices, and operational excellence.
• Strong communication, organizational leadership, stakeholder management, influencing, and persuasion skills.
• This position is not eligible for employer visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience in insurance, financial services, healthcare, or another regulated industry.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-native engineering practices.
• Familiarity with Guidewire or modernization of enterprise core systems.
• MBA or advanced technical or business degree.
