Senior Mechanical Engineer (Aerospace & Defense)

Location: 100% onsite in Inglewood, California, United States. The role requires U.S. person status under ITAR export control requirements.

Salary: $115,000–$140,000 annually, based on experience, skills, and education.

What you will do

• Lead or support the development, maintenance, and upgrade of electro-mechanical and electro-hydraulic subsystem designs.
• Design and analyze components and subsystems covering structural, fluid, thermal, and control systems.
• Manage prototype planning, fabrication, builds, documentation, and production activities.
• Assess product and process issues throughout the product lifecycle and conduct root cause analysis for complex design nonconformances.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to optimize system integration and achieve program goals.
• Prepare schematics, drawings, reports, test plans, and test reports; participate in program and technical reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with 3D modeling and analysis tools such as Creo, AutoCAD, or ANSYS.
• Knowledge of manufacturing methods, fabrication processes, instrumentation, and data acquisition and control systems.
• Experience with geometric dimensioning, tolerancing, and stack-up analysis.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write English; must be a U.S. person as defined by ITAR. Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating military systems and standards.
• Experience with forming, stamping, machining, or heat treatment processes.
