TL;DR
Senior Program Engineer (Aerospace): Leading engineering program activities for pneumatic, mechanical, and electromechanical aerospace and defense components, assemblies, and systems across design, testing, production, and sustainment with an accent on systems engineering, technical program execution, and DoD compliance. Focus on requirements management, reliability and safety analyses, qualification testing, subcontractor coordination, technical reviews, and transition to production.

Location: Inglewood, California, United States. Applicants must be U.S. persons under ITAR export-control requirements, and employment eligibility is verified through E-Verify.

Salary: $120,000–$160,000 per year

What you will do

  • Lead program and project engineering activities from contract award and conceptual design through testing, production, and sustainment.
  • Define engineering problems and coordinate technical and programmatic deliverables across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage requirements, reliability and maintainability analysis, fault tree analysis, FMECA, system safety, qualification testing, and structural and thermal analyses.
  • Lead subcontractor engineering, testing, manufacturing, technical documentation, and delivery coordination.
  • Prepare and present Systems Engineering Technical Review materials for SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, and related milestones.
  • Support program schedules, risk and opportunity management, proposals, work breakdown structures, cost and schedule estimates, and DoD compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems Engineering, or another STEM discipline with relevant experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in aerospace, defense, or a similar industry.
  • Working knowledge of CAD, engineering drawings, GD&T, materials, manufacturing processes, pneumatics, mechanical systems, and electromechanical systems.
  • Experience with engineering product development from requirements generation through transition to production.
  • Strong technical writing, communication, analytical, problem-solving, and technical program management skills.
  • Must meet ITAR U.S.-person requirements: U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, political asylee, or refugee.

Nice to have

  • DoD acquisition or aerospace systems development experience.
  • AS9100, MIL-STD-810, or related DoD and aerospace compliance knowledge.
  • Experience with FEA, structural and thermal fatigue analysis, R&M, FTA, FMECA, system safety, SETR events, ERP/SAP, electronics, circuits, or airborne weapon systems.
