Maintenance & Calibration Technician

Location: Rochester Innovation Center; onsite on a full-time basis

Salary: $32.50–$47.50 per hour

What you will do

• Inspect, analyze, troubleshoot, repair, and replace mechanical and electrical systems and equipment.
• Perform specialized maintenance, integration, and fabrication work for fuel cell and electrolyzer testing equipment.
• Carry out NIST-traceable calibrations and preventative or on-demand maintenance on test and production equipment.
• Develop special-purpose instrumentation and shop or laboratory test equipment.
• Maintain work records, analyze collected data, and report results.
• Optimize facility, equipment, and process performance while identifying improvement opportunities and maintaining safety and housekeeping standards.

Requirements

• Two-year associate degree in a mechanical or electrical field, equivalent training and experience, or 4+ years of professional experience.
• Fabrication proficiency and experience using machining tools.
• MIG/TIG welding experience and the ability to read drawings and interpret designs.
• Strong knowledge of advanced mechanical and/or electrical concepts and engineering mathematics.
• Analytical problem-solving ability, initiative, and strong collaboration skills.
• Ability to work cooperatively with operators, engineers, management, and coworkers in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Nice to have

• Previous calibration experience.
• Fuel cell knowledge or experience.
• Entry-level proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, Visio, Project, and PowerPoint.
• Strong organizational skills.
