BESS Electrical Estimator (Battery Energy Storage)

Location: Hybrid role with regular in-office presence in San Diego, California

Salary: $106,705–$132,131 per year

hirify.global designs, builds, and maintains utility-scale solar, battery storage, and high-voltage substation infrastructure projects.

What you will do

• Review proposal specifications and drawings to define scope and estimate requirements.
• Prepare electrical estimates through takeoffs and scope entry in the estimating system.
• Quantify subcontracted work, equipment rentals, tools, supplier costs, and other bid package incidentals.
• Identify suppliers and subcontractors, solicit quotes, and evaluate submissions against plans and specifications.
• Use Accubid Anywhere for labor allocation and material takeoffs, and improve proprietary assemblies in Accubid Manager.
• Support project turnover, client documentation, cost-saving initiatives, and estimating staff training.

Requirements

• Degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least three years of electrical estimating or directly related experience.
• Understanding of substation, transmission, switchyard, energy storage, and electrical design components.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Excel, and Accubid.
• Strong time management, collaboration, communication, and creative problem-solving skills.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
