Solar & BESS Technician II - Bellefield Solar + Storage Project

Location: Onsite at Bellefield Solar project sites in Mojave, California; candidates must live in the general Lancaster/Mojave/Tehachapi area or be willing to relocate to the area before the start date. Work may also cover sites in Kern County, Antelope Valley, and Victor Valley, with travel to other sites, outdoor work, heights, energized equipment, and non-standard working hours.

What you will do

• Perform corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance on utility-scale solar PV plants, substations, and battery energy storage systems.
• Inspect, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain inverters, trackers, combiner boxes, PV modules, DC collection systems, and AC collection and distribution equipment.
• Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain split HVAC systems, packaged units, chillers, pumps, refrigeration circuits, airflow systems, filters, and condensate equipment supporting BESS containers.
• Prepare and implement switching and clearance orders and operate electrical and mechanical power plant systems.
• Write or assist with plant orders, procedures, operating instructions, maintenance records, and other technical documentation.
• Support training, vegetation management, safety and environmental compliance, and work independently or as part of field crews.

Requirements

• Must be based in the Lancaster/Mojave/Tehachapi area of California or willing to relocate before starting.
• High school diploma or GED; a technical degree or solar certification is preferred.
• At least two years of experience as an energy storage O&M technician and five or more years of power-generation experience.
• Knowledge of electrical or mechanical fundamentals, including electrical measurements, control circuits, electrical theory, and power-facility equipment.
• OSHA 10 and NFPA 70E certifications and knowledge of NFPA 855.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English; willingness to work outdoors, at heights, around energized equipment, and during overtime or non-standard hours.
