Sr. Estimator - High Voltage

Location: Avon, Minnesota, United States

Salary: $100,561–$145,814 per year, depending on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.

What you will do

• Lead estimating and procurement for high-voltage renewable energy projects.
• Develop cost estimates for substations, transmission lines, collector systems, and interconnection facilities.
• Review drawings, specifications, design options, quantities, materials, labor, equipment, and specialty items.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing while assessing project risks and opportunities.
• Plan estimates, prepare preliminary project schedules, lead bid reviews, and support client presentations and negotiations.
• Mentor and develop estimating staff through training and diverse work experiences.

Requirements

• Four-year degree in construction or engineering, or an equivalent combination of training and related experience.
• Five to seven years of experience as an estimator or equivalent technical experience.
• Experience with HV/MV electrical and BESS construction practices and techniques.
• Ability to calculate safety, labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and production costs.
• Ability to conduct site visits, review cost and production reports, and develop standard cost data.

Nice to have

• Experience estimating utility-scale high-voltage projects, including substations, transmission lines, collector systems, and interconnection facilities.
• Experience supporting wind, solar, and energy storage construction projects.
