Renewable Development Engineer (PV/BESS/Wind)

Location: Remote or in-office in Lakewood, Colorado; projects cover the United States. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Some field work may be required, with typical travel of 5–15%.

Salary: $80,000–$110,000 per year.

What you will do

• Develop preliminary 0–30% PV, BESS, and wind designs for projects across the United States.
• Create project constraint files, solar/PV/wind layouts, preliminary cable and DC designs, and civil grading and drainage concepts.
• Prepare high-level bills of materials, production estimates using PVsyst, and electrical studies including load flow, ampacity, losses, and short circuit analysis.
• Coordinate with Operations, Sales, Proposal, Business Development, Project Services, clients, owners, and subject matter experts.
• Support proposal pricing, provide engineering and technical support, and develop client and equipment vendor relationships.
• Self-schedule design activities, meet stakeholder deadlines, follow safety requirements, and pursue continual improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Civil Engineering from an accredited institution; an electric power option is preferred.
• 2–6 years of relevant engineering or field experience.
• Experience with energy modeling using PVsyst.
• Experience with AutoCAD.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Project.
• Basic electrical and civil engineering knowledge with specific emphasis on PV solar.
• Effective verbal and written communication with customers and internal personnel, plus strong interpersonal and people skills.
• Self-motivated, well-organized, comfortable making decisions in a fast-paced design environment, and able to solve problems effectively.
• Commercial understanding of the engineering or construction industries.

Nice to have

• PVCase experience.
• FE or PE licensure.
