Renewable Development Engineer (PV, BESS and Wind)

Location: Remote across the United States or in-office in Lakewood, Colorado. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Some field work and 5–15% travel may be required.

Salary: $80,000–$110,000 per year.

What you will do

• Develop preliminary 0–30% electrical and civil designs for PV, BESS, and wind projects.
• Create constraint files, solar and wind layouts, preliminary cable and DC designs, and civil grading and drainage concepts.
• Perform electrical studies including load flow, ampacity, losses, and short-circuit analysis.
• Prepare PVsyst production estimates and high-level bills of materials for civil, electrical, and foundation quantities.
• Support proposal pricing and provide engineering assistance to the Business Development and Project Services teams.
• Coordinate with clients, internal stakeholders, subject-matter experts, and equipment vendors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Civil Engineering; an electric power focus is preferred.
• 2–6 years of relevant engineering or field experience.
• Experience with energy modeling using PVsyst.
• Experience with AutoCAD; PVCase experience is preferred.
• Basic understanding of electrical and civil engineering, particularly PV solar systems.
• Strong communication, organization, decision-making, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

Nice to have

• FE or PE licensure.
• PVCase experience.
• Commercial understanding of engineering or construction industries.
