Product Development Lead (Aerospace & Defense)

What you will do

• Lead a functional engineering team developing electronics products from concept through production.
• Define team strategy and ensure projects meet schedule, budget, quality, and organizational metrics.
• Drive technical requirements reviews, verification, design evaluation, risk mitigation, drawing and test procedure reviews, and design reviews.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align engineering objectives with business strategy.
• Establish rigorous engineering processes, tools, methods, standards, RCCA, problem solving, and knowledge management practices.
• Provide technical guidance, mentor engineers, and ensure the team has appropriate training and resources.

Requirements

• BS or MS in engineering; electrical or mechanical engineering preferred.
• At least 6 years of experience in electronics product development, including functional team leadership, strategy execution, and engineer mentoring.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, leadership, communication, interpersonal, project management, planning, execution, and risk management skills.
• Ability to interpret and analyze electrical specifications and data, with knowledge of electronics design software, tools, and processes.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for project-related activities and adapt to changing priorities.
• Must have or be able to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance and work on U.S. DoD and ITAR-restricted products.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of explosive material ordnance devices and/or missile or launch vehicle systems.
• Experience with manufacturing processes, rapid prototyping, or product development.
