Director of Engineering (Radar/Electronics)

Location: Huntsville, Alabama, United States. US citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance are required.

What you will do

• Lead multidisciplinary systems, hardware, mechanical, software, and firmware engineering teams across the product lifecycle.
• Define, implement, and continuously improve engineering development processes aligned with AS9100 and existing quality systems.
• Guide products from concept development and prototyping through demonstrations, production transition, fielding, and lifecycle sustainment.
• Collaborate with business leaders, product owners, and product managers on technical feasibility, schedules, costs, and product roadmaps.
• Coordinate staffing, resources, technical oversight, production support, and career development for engineering staff.
• Partner with quality and production teams to improve processes and transition technology into manufacturing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and at least 15 years of experience in the DoD industry.
• US citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
• At least 5 years of experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Experience delivering and supporting products for the US government and FVEY partners.
• Experience working within AS9100 or ISO 9001 business management structures.
• Demonstrated technical leadership, subject matter expertise, and experience developing and deploying engineering processes.

Nice to have

• Experience with radar, SIGINT, or electronic warfare product development.
• Electrical, mechanical, or software engineering development experience.
• Experience managing resources across different geographical areas and working in both DoD and commercial industries.
• Experience qualifying and transitioning designs or products from engineering to production.
• Excellent organizational, communication, prioritization, and productivity-management skills.
