26-27 Special Education Teacher (All Grades)

Location: New Orleans, Louisiana, USA

Employment: Full-time, 100% on-site, Monday through Friday. The role starts with the next year's opening; occasional evening and weekend work may be required.

What you will do

• Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction and adapt lessons to support diverse learners.
• Use student work, interim assessments, and state assessment data to plan reteaching, extensions, and targeted small-group instruction.
• Provide accommodations and modifications for students with IEP and 504 plans while coordinating with DSS and ESL staff.
• Develop and implement annual IEPs, including present levels, goals, objectives, and required special education and related services.
• Maintain accurate special education records, progress reports, service logs, and compliance documentation.
• Build a safe, inclusive classroom culture and collaborate with students, families, school psychologists, related service providers, and colleagues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Current authorization to work in the United States for any employer is required.
• Ability to work in person throughout the scheduled school day is required.
• Ability to meet classroom and campus physical demands, including safely lifting and moving up to 30 lbs.
• Commitment to the school’s mission, vision, and core beliefs.
• Successful professional reference check, identity and work authorization verification, state background check, and teaching experience verification.

Nice to have

• At least two years of teaching experience in urban, open-enrollment schools.
• Demonstrated success improving student achievement outcomes.
• State-issued teaching credential.
