Receiving Inspector (Aerospace)

Location: Simsbury, Connecticut, United States; onsite, full time

What you will do

• Inspect incoming components and assemblies using standard inspection tools, handheld gages, MicroHeight, and an Optical Comparator.
• Verify products and certification packages against applicable requirements.
• Communicate inspection findings to relevant teams, management, and engineering staff.
• Maintain accurate, neat, and complete inspection records.
• Keep the work area organized and clean while following established safety guidelines.
• Work with multiple Simsbury teams and perform additional duties related to assigned areas.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent GED.
• 5+ years of experience inspecting mechanical components in an aerospace or defense company.
• Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, drop indicators, optical systems, and other standard inspection equipment.
• Ability to read and understand military specifications and industry standards.
• Ability to read and understand English.
• Effective communication skills, strong attention to detail, and basic PC and Microsoft Office skills.

Nice to have

• Experience working directly with internal or external customers and suppliers.
• Familiarity with AS9000 or AS9100 quality system procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
