Mechanical Quality Inspector I (Aerospace Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Perform in-process, finishing, and final mechanical inspections against technical data packages.
• Read and interpret drawings, specifications, purchase orders, statements of work, and applicable standards.
• Use precision measuring instruments, surface plates, and mechanical or optical equipment for dimensional and 3D inspection.
• Apply GD&T to verify complex components and assemblies.
• Determine acceptance or rejection of materials and prepare non-conformance reports.
• Perform AS9102 First Article Inspections, maintain inspection records, and communicate continuous improvement opportunities.

Requirements

• At least one year of quality experience or experience working with government or commercial standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Familiarity with GD&T and ASME Y14.5.
• Basic ability to use surface plates and mechanical or optical inspection equipment.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance.
• Good organizational skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office for documenting inspection results.

Nice to have

• Experience in AS9100 or ISO 9000 environments; NADCAP experience is a plus.
• Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspections.
• Experience inspecting CARC paint systems, chemical conversion, anodizing, and plating.
• Experience with TIPQA, NetInspect, or HighQA inspection software.
