Production Supervisor (Manufacturing)

Location: Stockton, California, United States. Full-time onsite position supervising the swing shift from 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Domestic and international travel of up to 5% is required. Relocation is not available.

Salary: $71,900–$115,000 per year, plus eligibility for quarterly bonuses or commission.

What you will do

• Plan and coordinate department work, staffing schedules, daily performance reviews, and production activities to meet customer demand and profitability targets.
• Supervise production employees and maintain a safe environment while ensuring product quality and output expectations.
• Participate in interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, mentoring, and employee development.
• Set performance expectations, provide feedback and recognition, and address performance issues.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve workflow and achieve longer-term efficiency gains.
• Manage timecards and employee relations in accordance with company policies and the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of manufacturing experience and/or training.
• At least 3 years of experience managing others.
• At least 2 years applying supply chain knowledge to department management.
• At least 1 year applying financial and P&L considerations to department management.
• Experience with quantitative analysis, process testing and inspection, performance assessment, and corrective action.
• Intermediate proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook; ability to understand written and spoken information.

Nice to have

• College degree or technical school certificate in business.
• Experience managing in a union environment.
• At least 2 years applying Lean manufacturing concepts to department management.
• At least 3 years mentoring and developing a team.
