Manager Quality Engineering (Aerospace)

Location: Inglewood, California, United States. Applicants must be U.S. persons under ITAR export control requirements.

Salary: $140,000–$160,000 per year.

What you will do

• Supervise and coordinate quality engineering personnel while managing hands-on quality responsibilities.
• Own and improve quality management systems, including internal and external audit functions.
• Resolve customer complaints, non-conformances, and corrective actions through root-cause analysis and follow-up.
• Provide technical quality support to operations and collaborate with customers, suppliers, engineering, production, purchasing, and program teams.
• Review contracts and purchase orders, ensure requirements flow down, and approve end-item data packages and first articles.
• Drive continuous process improvement, quality KPIs, training, and quality culture initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or a related engineering field.
• At least 10 years of hands-on aerospace quality engineering or assurance experience and 5 years of management experience.
• Experience with engineering drawings, GD&T, MIL standards, inspection techniques, ISO/AS9000, customer and supplier quality assurance, and aerospace configuration control.
• Hands-on knowledge of aerospace first-article requirements under AS9102 and manufacturing processes such as casting, welding, machining, sheet metal fabrication, and metal finishing.
• Experience with continuous process improvement and Lean/Six Sigma; proficiency with Microsoft Office is required.
• Must satisfy U.S. person requirements under ITAR; must be able to lift up to 35 pounds.

Nice to have

• ASQ CQE, CQM, or CQSSBB certification.
• ERP experience, especially SAP.
