Senior Manager – Revenue Accounting

Location: Leeds, United Kingdom; hybrid work with at least two days per week in an assigned hirify.global office

What you will do

• Lead the European revenue accounting function and act as the primary subject matter expert on revenue recognition.
• Assess customer contracts, complex arrangements, pricing structures, variable consideration, contract modifications, and deferred revenue under US GAAP and IFRS.
• Manage monthly and quarterly revenue close activities, including reporting, reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules.
• Oversee revenue-related costs such as sales and partner commissions, and support UK statutory and US group reporting.
• Maintain revenue accounting policies, procedures, SOX controls, and the wider internal control framework while supporting audits.
• Lead three UK-based direct reports, oversee offshore shared-service associates, and drive automation, system implementations, and finance transformation projects.

Requirements

• Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP, ASC 606, IFRS 15, SOX requirements, and internal control frameworks.
• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification.
• Experience accounting for complex customer contracts and revenue arrangements.
• Proven experience leading finance professionals and managing senior stakeholders across functions, geographies, and matrixed organisations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, project-management, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with enterprise resource planning systems and revenue accounting or automation tools.

Nice to have

• Experience in a US-listed or US-owned multinational organisation.
• Big Four or large public accounting firm experience with multinational clients.
• Leadership experience in revenue accounting, technical accounting, or financial reporting.
• Experience with finance transformation, systems implementation, or process improvement.
• Experience with Power BI, Power Query, and data analytics for reconciliation automation and revenue reporting.
