Accounting and Controls Manager (Europe)

Location: Richmond, United Kingdom; hybrid schedule with 3 days on-site and 2 days working from home.

What you will do

• Lead monthly and quarterly accounting close processes for Europe legal entities, including UK and US GAAP reporting and SAP S4 / Central Finance consolidation.
• Oversee accounting transactions, accruals, reconciliations, foreign currency accounting, banking activities, expense reporting, invoicing, and cash-flow forecasting.
• Manage VAT, customs, HMRC, corporation tax, transfer pricing, and other government and regulatory reporting with global Tax and external advisors.
• Prepare and present financial reporting, variance analysis, budgets, forecasts, and intercompany cross-charge information to Europe leadership.
• Coordinate the annual external audit and statutory accounting processes for the UK legal entity, including audit findings and company secretarial responsibilities.
• Implement, monitor, and improve internal controls across record-to-report, procure-to-pay, and order-to-cash processes while managing three direct reports.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of finance and/or accounting experience, including at least 2 years as an Accounting or Finance Manager.
• At least 3 years of experience managing professional teams and developing direct reports.
• Fully qualified accountant: CA, ACCA, CIMA, or an international equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, internal controls, financial reporting, foreign currency accounting, and multinational intercompany transactions.
• Experience with NetSuite ERP, Concur, or similar financial systems, plus HMRC, EU, customs, corporation tax, and VAT reporting.
• Leadership, communication, prioritization, project management, and cross-functional influencing skills.

• US GAAP experience.
• Global multinational FMCG, eCommerce, or online trade experience.
