Senior Accountant - Payroll and VAT (Medtech)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid work requires on-site attendance at an hirify.global office at least twice per week

hirify.global is a public medical device company developing the Omnipod platform for insulin delivery and other therapeutic applications.

What you will do

• Lead payroll accounting activities across the EMEA region and partner with Payroll, HR, Benefits teams, and external payroll providers.
• Prepare and review payroll journal entries, including multi-country and multi-currency accrual calculations.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes and resolve accounting issues.
• Own balance sheet reconciliations for payroll, benefits, VAT, and other assigned accounts.
• Support VAT compliance, reconciliations, accounting entries, and coordination with the internal tax team.
• Contribute to statutory reporting, audits, financial statements, and process improvements for EMEA entities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Progressive accounting experience in a multinational environment.
• Strong accounting knowledge; US GAAP experience is preferred.
• Experience preparing and reviewing complex payroll journals in multi-country and multi-currency environments.
• Working knowledge of VAT and understanding of SOX controls and compliance.
• Strong ERP experience, preferably with SAP.

Nice to have

• Professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA, ACA, CMA, or equivalent.
