Supervisor, Shipping & Receiving

Location: Gloucester City, New Jersey, USA; onsite

Salary: $70,000–$80,000 per year, with a possible discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Lead daily shipping and receiving operations, coordinating pickups, shipments, inbound freight, delivery appointments, carriers, and internal teams.
• Plan workloads and labor for forklift drivers and shipping and receiving clerks while adjusting resources to match operational volume.
• Maintain accurate inventory transactions and storage across internal and external facilities using WMS, TMS, ERP, and related systems.
• Investigate shortages, discrepancies, and shipping or receiving issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Coach, train, and develop hourly employees while reinforcing safety, accuracy, productivity, attendance, and service expectations.
• Monitor KPIs, complete operational reporting, maintain standard work procedures, and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 3+ years of leadership experience in distribution, warehousing, shipping and receiving, or related operations.
• Experience supervising hourly warehouse employees, including forklift operators or clerks.
• Strong knowledge of shipping, receiving, inventory control, FIFO, and warehouse processes.
• Experience with WMS and enterprise warehouse systems; TMS experience is preferred.
• Experience coordinating freight with third-party carriers and trucking companies, plus strong leadership, labor planning, analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of OSHA and forklift safety requirements, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and a bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.

• Experience in perishable goods, agriculture, food processing, manufacturing, or high-volume distribution.
• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, logistics, operations, or a related field.
• TMS experience.
