Shipping Supervisor

Location: Tampa, Florida, United States

Salary: $70,000–$80,000 annually, plus an annual performance-based bonus

What you will do

• Direct outbound shipments, customer order scheduling, truck and railcar loading, and shipment status updates.
• Manage inbound material inspection, unloading, storage, and warehouse equipment operations.
• Schedule shift work, coordinate production activities, supervise employees, approve time records, and implement company policies.
• Manage on-hand and month-end inventory and investigate shipping-related customer complaints.
• Train employees on equipment, production standards, safety regulations, protocols, and waste control.
• Analyze department performance, establish goals, and recommend process and equipment improvements.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• At least 4 years of experience working in a shipping department.
• Ability to work flexible hours when needed.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical, mechanical, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of departmental machinery, methods, procedures, safety processes, continuous improvement, and manufacturing systems including shop floor software.
• Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple deadlines and requests in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Some college education or manufacturing training.
• Experience in a corrugated manufacturing environment.
• Previous supervisory experience in training, team building, performance development, and conflict resolution.
