Director, Wine Logistics

Location: Paso Robles, California, USA; logistics teams are based in Paso Robles and Tucson, Arizona.

Salary: $180,000–$210,000 per year, with a possible discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Lead wholesale logistics and supply chain strategy to improve on-time delivery, efficiency, scalability, and customer service.
• Develop direct-to-consumer logistics plans and manage relationships with third-party logistics partners.
• Oversee inbound and outbound transportation, order management, customer service, returns, and product movement.
• Manage warehouse operations, inventory control, storage optimization, product traceability, and external warehouse inventory validation.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with transportation providers, 3PLs, distributors, and carriers.
• Lead multi-site logistics teams, monitor KPIs, prepare performance reports, and drive continuous improvement with operations, sales, production, finance, and sourcing teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field; an MBA is preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive logistics or supply chain experience, ideally in wine, beverage, food manufacturing, or distribution.
• Leadership experience managing multi-site logistics or distribution operations.
• Strong expertise in ERP, WMS, TMS, and inventory management systems.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, problem-solving, and data analysis skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, seasonal logistics environment and lead with a hands-on, collaborative style.

Nice to have

• Experience in wine, alcohol, or luxury goods logistics.
• Knowledge of U.S. and international alcohol distribution regulations, import/export laws, and temperature-controlled shipping.
• Passion for wine and winemaking.
