Category Manager (Supply Chain)

What you will do

• Conduct local and global market analysis and develop sourcing strategies for assigned commodities and suppliers.
• Create three-year category strategies covering supplier goals, pricing, performance, and inventory.
• Develop and execute cost reduction, supplier consolidation, and long-term agreement strategies.
• Manage supplier business reviews, quality issue resolution, corrective action plans, and delivery performance improvements.
• Support buyers with cost-benefit analysis for material expediting, supplier fees, and freight expenses.
• Recommend purchasing process and inventory parameter changes to improve material availability and customer service.

Requirements

• Previous purchasing or supply chain management experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify root causes.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, including Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience in a make-to-order or engineer-to-order manufacturing environment preferred.

Nice to have

• APICS or ISM certification.
• Experience creating presentations for executive audiences.
