Environmental Health and Safety Advisor (Automotive Recycling)

Location: Ajax, Ontario, Canada; travel across Ontario required 50% of the time

Salary: Up to CAD 75,000 per year + bonus

What you will do

• Support the development of the environmental, health, and safety culture across Ontario recycling sites.
• Advise Branch Managers on EHS initiatives, programs, procedures, and preventive measures.
• Conduct workplace inspections, environmental control reviews, and occupational risk analyses.
• Investigate incidents using root cause analysis and support regulatory reporting and follow-up.
• Coordinate with regulatory bodies and third parties during inspections and investigations.
• Deliver and track mandatory EHS training, onboarding sessions, audits, metrics, and safety committee activities.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of health and safety experience in production, recycling, retail, or a similar environment.
• Diploma or degree in Environmental Health and Safety or a related field.
• Valid Class G driver’s licence.
• Strong knowledge of Ontario occupational health and safety legislation, O. Reg. 851/90, the Ontario Fire Code, and environmental regulations.
• Strong planning, organizational, adaptability, and multitasking skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to travel across Ontario 50% of the time.
