Senior Footwear Materials Developer, Asia (Footwear Materials): Developing and commercializing high-performance footwear materials from concept through production with an accent on technical textiles, material testing, supplier collaboration, and sustainable material applications. Focus on validating material performance, managing development risks and timelines, and creating innovative materials across knits, woven, non-woven, and synthetic categories.
Location: Hai Phong, Vietnam. Workplace: On-site.

What you will do
- Lead technical textile and footwear material development from physical testing and material toolbox creation through commercialization.
- Manage material projects across seasonal timelines, validating materials on and off products and coordinating execution across the supply chain.
- Research and develop knits, woven, non-woven, synthetic, and other footwear materials, including advanced and sustainable material applications.
- Collaborate with Development, Design, Product Management, Sustainability, testing teams, factories, and the global product creation organization.
- Manage material specifications, testing history, and the materials library.
- Lead vendor collaboration, supplier reviews, material shows, delivery negotiations, audits, and ongoing supplier communication.
Requirements
- BS in Textile Engineering, Textile Design, Materials Engineering, Textile Chemistry, or a related field; relevant experience may substitute.
- At least 5 years of experience leading material development for high-performance footwear projects.
- Experience working with international material vendors and a solid understanding of footwear construction, materials, testing, and evaluation.
- Knowledge of textile manufacturing, dyeing, finishing, testing, textile and yarn processes, machinery, and knitting methods.
- Ability to analyze test information, provide clear subjective feedback, solve problems, and make decisions collaboratively.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills and willingness to travel domestically and internationally are required.
