API 510 or 570 or CWB Level 2 Inspector - Turnaround - Fort McMurray

Location: Onsite at a Fort McMurray, Alberta worksite; camp accommodation provided. Candidates must be authorized to work in Canada.

Salary: CAD 75–90 per hour, depending on experience, with overtime eligibility.

SGS is a global testing, inspection, and certification company operating a network of offices and laboratories worldwide.

What you will do

• Perform welding and industrial equipment inspections during a turnaround.
• Inspect pipelines, expansion joints, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and other manufactured equipment.
• Support quality assurance, vendor surveillance, shop inspection, shutdown, and site activities.
• Work a 6-days-on/1-day-off schedule with 12-hour shifts; work may continue without days off after the initial rotation until the turnaround ends.

Requirements

• API 510, API 570, or CWB Level 2 certification required as a minimum.
• A few years of industrial welding-related inspection experience in turnarounds, shutdowns, site work, quality assurance, vendor surveillance, or shop inspections.
• Industrial experience in oil and gas, power and utilities, construction, manufacturing, or a related field.
• Must work as an independent contractor and be authorized to work in Canada.

Nice to have

• Turnaround experience; new construction experience may be considered if turnaround experience is unavailable.
