Technical Welding Associate

Salary: CAD 65,000–85,000 per year

What you will do

• Support engineers, technologists, tradespeople, and clients on fabrication and welding projects for critical oil and gas infrastructure.
• Interpret regulatory requirements, codes, and customer specifications related to welding, fabrication, and materials.
• Monitor welding parameters and prepare welding procedure specifications and procedure qualification records under supervision.
• Prepare work orders, maintain sample traceability and documentation, and interpret laboratory test results.
• Conduct welder performance qualification testing and assist clients with welding process and technology implementation.
• Maintain welding equipment and shop areas while following safety, quality, and continuous-improvement requirements.

Requirements

• Post-secondary education in Welding Engineering, Welding Engineering Technology, or a three-year Manufacturing Engineering Technology program.
• Welding Examiner Certificate of Competency issued by ABSA.
• CSA W178.2 Level 2 Welding Inspector Certificate of Compliance.
• Eligibility to register for T.T., C.E.T., or E.I.T. status.
• Authorization to work in Canada is required for Canadian job openings.
