Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada, with home-office, remote/field work and visits to remote Alberta sites

What you will do
- Lead a team of approximately 20 through engineering, planning, design, procurement, construction, and start-up of midstream infrastructure.
- Provide technical oversight for pipelines, pumping stations, processing facilities, and SAGD systems including well pads, steam generation, and water handling.
- Coordinate mechanical, process, civil, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines across FEED and detailed engineering.
- Manage scope, schedules, budgets, quality, risk registers, and management of change from concept through commissioning.
- Support contractor selection and construction, field engineering, RFI resolution, as-builts, pre-commissioning, and start-up.
- Interface with clients, regulators, operations, HSE, subsurface, production, and commercial stakeholders while driving reliability, debottlenecking, and digital optimization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum, or Civil Engineering, or extensive proven relevant experience.
- 10+ years of relevant oil and gas project engineering experience with strong exposure to Alberta midstream operations.
- Direct experience with SAGD facilities, brownfield modifications, facility expansions, and remote or oil sands projects.
- Strong knowledge of pipeline systems, fluid handling, thermal systems, oil processing infrastructure, and Canadian CSA, ASME, API, and AER requirements.
- Experience managing budgets, schedules, multidisciplinary teams, procurement inputs, contractors, and construction execution.
- Ability to visit remote field sites, walk rights-of-way and facilities, work in all seasonal conditions, follow PPE and safety protocols, and hold a valid driver’s license with a clean record.
Nice to have
- Alberta Professional Engineer designation through APEGA or eligibility to obtain it within 12 months.
- Experience with water treatment, OTSG/HRSG steam generation, and heat integration systems.
- Familiarity with AFE development, cost control, Primavera P6 or MS Project, and contractor oversight.
