Director, Strategic Finance

Location: San Diego, California, or Northern California/Foster City, United States. Residence in the San Diego or Foster City area and the ability to commute to corporate offices are required. The role requires 2–3 in-office days per week, with additional onsite presence as needed. Relocation assistance is available and should be completed within six months or a mutually agreed timeframe.

Salary: $170,600–$255,800 base salary per year, plus eligibility for variable cash programs and equity for eligible roles.

What you will do

• Lead financial support for mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments, partnerships, alliances, joint ventures, divestitures, licensing arrangements, and new venture formation.
• Direct financial modeling, valuation, business case development, scenario analysis, and transaction structuring.
• Lead or coordinate financial diligence with Finance, Corporate Development, Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Legal, Commercial, R&D, and Operations stakeholders.
• Advise senior Finance and Executive Leadership by translating financial, operational, and market information into actionable recommendations and decision materials.
• Govern the strategic transaction portfolio and deal pipeline, including investment thesis tracking, milestone reporting, resource allocation, and value realization.
• Build, lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Strategic Finance team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field, typically with at least 18 years of related experience and 10+ years of management experience, or an equivalent combination.
• Significant experience in strategic finance, corporate finance, investment banking, management consulting, corporate development, business development, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in complex financial analysis, valuation, business case development, and transaction-related activities.
• Strong communication, presentation, judgment, prioritization, and executive stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work across multiple time zones and travel domestically and internationally as required, with approximately 15% anticipated travel.
• This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
