Location: Atlanta, Georgia, United States; hybrid in-office and work-from-home arrangement with required attendance at in-person project meetings.

Salary: $88,000–$131,000 per year, negotiable based on qualifications, experience, and full- or part-time status.

What you will do

  • Research and evaluate cultural, social, natural, and physical environmental data for transportation projects.
  • Prepare NEPA and planning documents, including Categorical Exclusions, Environmental Assessments, Environmental Impact Statements, scoping materials, mitigation plans, and public involvement materials.
  • Ensure environmental documentation complies with applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Coordinate with sub-consultants, government agencies, clients, and the public.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets while responding to changing client priorities.
  • Advise clients on environmental documentation and permitting strategies, mentor team members, and support business development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Urban Planning, Environmental Planning, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience with NEPA requirements and document preparation.
  • Experience preparing NEPA documentation for the Federal Highway Administration or other federal transportation agencies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent writing, communication, analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to collaborate in a fast-paced team environment and work with experts from other disciplines.

Nice to have

  • AICP or CEP certification.
  • Experience with state departments of transportation, particularly the GDOT Plan Development Process.
  • Knowledge of Bluebeam, Adobe Pro, AI/ChatGPT, and Canva.
