Mold Maintenance Technician

Salary: CAD 23.14–31.51 per hour

G&W Electric Co. is hiring for a mold maintenance role supporting molding and tooling operations.

What you will do

• Set up, change over, break down, and tear down molds in coordination with production and planning.
• Perform preventive and planned mold maintenance, including cleaning, inspection, lubrication, and replacement of worn components.
• Troubleshoot tooling and production issues, support root-cause identification, and coordinate corrective actions with tooling engineering, molding personnel, and contractors.
• Maintain mold storage, inventory, tooling records, traceability, and maintenance documentation.
• Safely operate cranes, hoists, forklifts, and other lifting equipment for mold movement and storage.
• Support continuous improvement, standardized procedures, training, and safe maintenance practices.

Requirements

• Post-secondary certificate, diploma, or skilled-trade certification in mechanical techniques, millwright/industrial mechanics, or tool and die.
• Experience with mold setup, mold maintenance, tooling, injection molding, or a related manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, presses, measuring devices, and performing basic electrical, plumbing, and mechanical repairs.
• Ability to identify tooling wear, follow technical documentation, and apply preventive maintenance practices.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts, cranes, and hoists, with strong organization, documentation, communication, teamwork, and basic computer skills.

Nice to have

• Mold repair, millwright, or mechanical experience.
• Skilled-trade certification in millwright or tool and die.
• Blueprint reading and GD&T familiarity.
• Root-cause problem-solving and Lean/5S knowledge.
