Apparel Innovation Designer, Advanced (Apparel Design)

Location: Seattle, Washington, United States. Hybrid schedule with four days per week in the Seattle offices; travel 20% domestically and internationally.

Salary: $91,931–$137,896 per year, plus potential annual bonus.

What you will do

• Develop pro apparel for competitions, including signature and custom-tailored products for major global events.
• Develop and prototype apparel concepts for near-future seasons across short-term and long-range projects.
• Design solutions for cooling, warmth, support, visibility, and protection using athlete and consumer feedback.
• Prototype and test new materials, garment features, and technologies in collaboration with athletes, suppliers, factories, and cross-functional teams.
• Use body mapping, pressure mapping, athlete-specific tailoring, AI, and digital design tools to optimize performance and accelerate iteration.
• Present concepts and prepare design specifications, prototypes, technical documentation, and handoff packages for commercialization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Apparel, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience in apparel innovation, technical design, or a related role.
• Proficiency with vector-based graphics software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, plus digital design and prototyping tools.
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, PowerPoint, Keynote, and Illustrator.
• Ability to connect technical decisions to user experience and market needs and to lead cross-functional projects independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication, attention to detail, initiative, creativity, and ability to influence diverse teams.

Nice to have

• Passionate participation in Brooks sports activities or strong empathy with runners.
• Experience attending industry trade fairs and working with materials and factory partners.
