Laboratory Technician, AGRI

Location: Vancouver, Washington, United States; onsite full-time

What you will do

• Test agriculture and food samples for moisture, protein, oil, fiber, ash, toxins, falling number, proximate analysis, and other parameters using wet chemistry methods and laboratory instruments.
• Operate, maintain, calibrate, and document the condition of GCMS, HPLC, LCMSMS, NIR, LECO, ICP-OES, and other laboratory equipment.
• Prepare, store, label, and dispose of samples, solvents, standards, and reagents while maintaining related records and inventories.
• Enter, review, and report data in LIMS, Excel, and other systems, including control charts and routine documentation.
• Support proficiency testing, audits, method validation, SOP improvement, and investigations of questionable or unsatisfactory results.
• Coordinate with supervisors, laboratory staff, and clients to resolve result queries and complaints and provide accurate, timely outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Agriculture, Food Science, Environmental Science, or a related scientific field.
• 1–3 years of laboratory experience, preferably with agricultural and food matrices.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 17025, good laboratory practices, and accredited ISO, AOAC, or AOCS methods.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and laboratory data-entry systems.
• Ability to follow work instructions safely and accurately, manage multiple projects, and work independently or collaboratively.
• Strong communication, time-management, attention-to-detail, and flexibility for occasional extended hours.
