Senior Cost Accountant (Bioprocessing)

Location: Waltham, Massachusetts, United States

Salary: $86,000–$131,100 annually, plus eligibility for variable cash programs and, for eligible roles, equity.

What you will do

• Manage monthly inventory and COGS close activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and excess and obsolete inventory analysis.
• Partner with operations to analyze manufacturing variances, spending, inventory fluctuations, and other performance metrics.
• Manage the annual standard cost roll, validate overhead rates, and analyze inventory revaluation impacts.
• Coordinate materials, labor, and overhead budgeting and forecasting with Financial Planning and operations.
• Support physical inventory counts, cycle count implementation, inventory transactions, and acquisition integration.
• Perform gross margin analysis, monitor global inventory balances, and test inventory-related SOX controls.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 5+ years of cost and inventory accounting experience in a manufacturing company.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and SOX internal controls related to inventory reporting.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and manipulation of large data sets.
• High attention to detail and ability to multitask, cross-train, and improve processes in a changing environment.
