TL;DR
Manufacturing Engineering Technician II (Lean Manufacturing): Installing and commissioning manufacturing equipment, supporting production processes, and executing continuous improvement projects with an accent on Lean Manufacturing, root-cause analysis, and equipment reliability. Focus on leading Kaizen, Six Sigma, and 5S activities, analyzing cycle times, creating manufacturing routings, and coordinating installation teams.

Location: Memphis, TN, United States; full-time onsite role

What you will do

  • Install, test, and commission capital manufacturing equipment according to manufacturer and hirify.global procedures.
  • Coordinate project tasks, materials, contract labor, and vendor installation teams in line with project schedules.
  • Drive adoption of Lean Manufacturing principles and support efficient, reliable production processes.
  • Lead and support Kaizen, Six Sigma, and 5S workshops and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Facilitate root-cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conforming materials and process issues.
  • Create manufacturing routings, perform cycle-time and time-study analyses, and establish initiative tracking and reporting.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in an industrial operations setting or equivalent manufacturing experience.
  • Experience in electrical, mechanical, or machinist work.
  • Detailed knowledge of operations processes, machinery, equipment, materials, tools, and procedures.
  • Ability to provide technical and cross-training to process leaders, mechanics, and operating teams across shifts.
  • Ability to work in office, laboratory, and manufacturing environments with seasonal temperature changes, dust, and some chemical fume exposure.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform climbing, stooping, sitting, and prolonged standing.

Nice to have

  • Associate or two-year degree from an engineering technical school.
  • Refrigerant Handling License.
  • Lean Six Sigma training.
  • Supervisory or leadership training.
