Senior Engineer, Firmware (C/C++)

Location: Daily onsite presence at the San Jose, California office and U.S. headquarters, with business travel to domestic and international customer sites and overseas development centers for periods of up to several weeks.

Salary: $138,000–$206,000 USD per year, plus incentive opportunities.

What you will do

• Develop NVMe or SAS SSD firmware.
• Analyze, debug, and resolve firmware issues reported by customers and development centers.
• Triage and identify root causes of system, driver, and device interoperability issues.
• Perform OEM specification gap analysis and develop customized firmware features.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to analyze debug data, implement firmware patches, and deploy fixes.
• Support customers by running or inspecting tests at onsite locations and traveling as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering or Computer Science with 5 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong C/C++ programming experience for embedded systems.
• Hands-on experience with UART, JTAG, ICE debuggers, firmware debugging, and protocol analyzers.
• Familiarity with at least one storage protocol, such as SAS, SATA, SCSI, FC, NVMe, or PCIe.
• Ability to collaborate as part of a local and globally distributed engineering team.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for customer and development-center support.
