Sr. Firmware Engineer (C/C++)

Location: Hybrid role reporting out of Rancho Cordova, California, United States.

Salary: USD 148,320–237,400 per year, with eligibility for RSU, RCU, and cash bonus programs.

What you will do

• Develop, review, document, and maintain product source code in C/C++.
• Analyze requirements and develop firmware according to internal and customer specifications.
• Design low-level firmware, operating systems, device architectures, and system architectures with hardware and ASIC design teams.
• Perform unit and system-level testing, failure analysis, debugging, and validation of product issues.
• Work across firmware disciplines and translate product requirements into development and validation plans.
• Coordinate engineering priorities and milestones while contributing to Agile/Kanban development practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 7+ years of software or firmware development experience in embedded systems using C/C++.
• Experience developing embedded firmware for real-time operating systems and working with hardware-software interactions.
• Experience with compilers, debuggers, emulators, and firmware development toolchains.
• Strong written, presentation, communication, multitasking, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Experience contributing to feature development across multiple stages of the product lifecycle.

Nice to have

• Experience in the SSD or enterprise storage industry.
• Knowledge of SATA, SAS, PCIe, and NVMe storage interface protocols.
• Knowledge of SSD or enterprise storage security protocols such as Opal, ESSC, and AES.
• Experience with continuous integration and delivery, DevOps processes, unit testing, project planning, and risk management.
