Firmware Engineer 2 (Embedded Storage)

Location: Onsite in San Jose, California, USA

Annual base salary: USD 82,500–132,000, plus discretionary annual bonus and equity awards.

hirify.global's Data Center Solutions Group develops embedded storage systems and storage products.

What you will do

• Develop new features and maintain low-level firmware for storage products.
• Implement and support RAID functionality on ARM-based microprocessors.
• Work with PCIe, NVMe, SAS, and SATA storage protocols.
• Validate product solutions and support firmware release activities.
• Analyze logs to identify and resolve functional, performance, and data integrity issues.
• Collaborate with hardware and validation teams to troubleshoot firmware and hardware integration issues using DSTREAM and logic analyzers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, ECE, or EE with 2+ years of related experience, or a Master's degree in one of these fields.
• Strong programming skills in C.
• Working knowledge of embedded ARM processors.
• Experience with AI/LLM-based tools in embedded firmware workflows, including code generation, review, debugging, test-case generation, and documentation.
