Underwriter (Product Liability)

What you will do

• Analyze E&S product liability submissions from broker partners.
• Determine risk eligibility, limits, attachment points, pricing, and policy terms within the company’s underwriting appetite.
• Execute primary general liability business plans and support growth in the small-to-medium-sized products liability market.
• Provide prompt and accurate service on policy transactions and maintain broker relationships.
• Ensure bound risks comply with delegated authority, underwriting standards, peer review, and pricing methodologies.
• Document underwriting activities and decisions in accordance with internal policies and applicable regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a Risk Management and Insurance major, or equivalent work experience.
• At least 1 year of commercial insurance underwriting experience.
• Knowledge of general liability construction, real estate, service providers, product liability, coverage, pricing, and rating methodologies.
• Understanding of policy wordings, clauses, underwriting tools, insurance operations, targeted industries, producers, and competitors.
• Ability to travel monthly to meet assigned brokers in the region.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Industry designation such as CPCU, CRM, ARM, or CIC, achieved or in progress.
