Analyst II - Quality Specifications

What you will do

• Review and interpret customer, industry, and internal specifications covering chemistry, mechanical properties, structural characteristics, and non-destructive testing.
• Evaluate whether manufactured materials meet applicable specification and quality requirements.
• Abstract, input, maintain, and re-review specification requirements in electronic systems, resolving errors and keeping standards at their latest revision.
• Prepare exception letters documenting proposed alternatives, deviations, or rejected requirements for customer review.
• Coordinate technical reviews and specification changes across Quality, Metallurgy, Customer Solutions, Manufacturing, Legal, and other functions.
• Support audits, certifications, KPIs, continuous improvement, customer and supplier interactions, and training for new employees.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; a two-year or four-year technical college degree is preferred.
• At least four years of experience in technical documentation review or related work demonstrating equivalent knowledge and skills.
• Knowledge of material testing standards such as ASTM, AMS, API, NACE, or similar standards.
• Knowledge of quality management systems, including AS9100, ISO 9001, document control, and contract review processes.
• Ability to interpret complex technical specifications, prepare clear technical documentation, solve problems, and manage competing deadlines.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, SAP, Lotus Notes, and other business systems; experience in metals testing and technical specification review is preferred.
