TL;DR

Focus on identifying nonconformances, supporting corrective actions, and maintaining product conformity and airworthiness across production, overhaul, and depot-level activities.

Location: Dayton, Ohio, United States; onsite production environment

What you will do

  • Perform in-process, final, and receiving inspections of mechanical parts, assemblies, and systems.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, technical orders, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Use calipers, micrometers, height gauges, torque tools, borescopes, and other precision inspection equipment.
  • Document inspection results in inspection records, routers, and electronic quality systems.
  • Identify and process nonconformances, supporting root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality Engineering and support internal, customer, and regulatory audits.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree or technical certification in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Technology is preferred.
  • 4+ years of mechanical inspection experience in an aerospace, aviation, or regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Working knowledge of aerospace quality systems and inspection practices, with experience using precision measurement tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce clear, accurate, audit-ready documentation using basic computer systems and electronic quality records.
  • Ability to work in a production environment, stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 30 lbs.

Nice to have

  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing, MRO, or depot-level maintenance.
  • Familiarity with AS9100, FAA, DoD, or customer-specific quality requirements.
  • IPC 610/620 training and certification.
  • Exposure to MRB processes, nonconformance reporting, and corrective actions.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a required security clearance, if applicable.
