Process Engineer I - New Grad

Location: Denver, Colorado, USA; full-time onsite position

What you will do

• Support the design and engineering of manufacturing facilities, process equipment, facility infrastructure, and critical utility systems.
• Perform engineering calculations, including heat transfer and pressure drop calculations.
• Document process design scopes and coordinate deliverables with architects, engineers, designers, and internal and external project members.
• Develop or support block and process flow diagrams, user requirements specifications, equipment lists, equipment arrangements, equipment datasheets, utility summaries, and P&IDs.
• Support studies, conceptual and schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.
• Support field installation teams and perform construction site observations under the direction of experienced engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering, or a related discipline from an ABET-accredited program.
• 0–3 years of relevant experience through internships, co-ops, research, or professional employment.
• Basic understanding of engineering principles, calculations, and problem-solving methods.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work onsite in Denver, Colorado, USA.

Nice to have

• Engineer in Training certification or successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
• Experience with material and energy balances, process modeling, and equipment sizing calculations.
• Knowledge of fluid mechanics, hydraulic modeling, heat transfer, chemistry, or biochemistry.
• Experience performing engineering design calculations under the guidance of a licensed engineer.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with process modeling, design, and calculation software.
