Industrial Piping Designer

Location: Onsite at the Burlington, Washington office, USA

What you will do

• Develop industrial piping drawings in accordance with project specifications, scope, design parameters, codes, and industry practices.
• Create and modify piping plans, elevations, sections, isometrics, P&IDs, and equipment arrangements.
• Prepare isometric drawings and bills of materials from piping plans, sections, and elevations.
• Lead design and drawing package development on multidisciplinary projects.
• Perform facility walkdowns and verify existing piping configurations using field information and 3D point-cloud laser scans.
• Travel to and support project job sites, including field assignments.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of progressive piping design experience, including 3D piping design.
• Required proficiency with Plant 3D and/or CADWorx and AutoCAD.
• Working knowledge of process piping, piping systems, P&IDs, PFDs, piping material specifications, valves, and instrumentation.
• Experience with ASME B31.1, B31.3, B31.4, and B31.8 pressure piping codes.
• Experience supporting oil and gas producers, pipeline operators, and refiners.
• Engineering coursework or an associate degree is preferred; willingness to travel and work at job sites is required.

Nice to have

• Experience developing piping specification databases, 3D assemblies, parts, and templates in accordance with client standards.
• Experience setting up projects with AutoCAD Sheet Set Manager, template files, and dynamic referencing.
