Chemical/Paper Engineer - All Mills

Location: Counce, Tennessee, with consideration for PCA mill locations in DeRidder, Filer City, International Falls, Jackson, Massillon, Riverville, Tomahawk, Valdosta, and Wallula

Salary: $86,000–$90,000 starting annual salary

What you will do

• Optimize mill processes through technical studies, troubleshooting, lean projects, technology implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Analyze production, process, quality, and cost data to identify trends, reduce costs, improve quality, and increase operating performance.
• Provide technical direction and troubleshooting support for instrumentation, PLC, distributed control, quality control, HMI, and related process control systems.
• Coordinate control-system planning, programming, maintenance, improvement, system design, installation, startup, and tuning.
• Support process modifications, capital projects, and mill improvement efforts with operations, maintenance, engineering, contractors, and external resources.
• Maintain safety, environmental, quality, productivity, product safety, and control-system reliability expectations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, paper engineering, or a related field.
• 0–4 years of experience in process engineering or the paper industry.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Valid driver’s license and experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Project.
• Familiarity with instrumentation and control systems; paper-industry experience, co-op, or internship experience is relevant.
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, planning, problem-solving, leadership, and process-management skills, including the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple requests.
