TL;DR
Senior Preconstruction Project Manager (Renewable Energy): Managing utility-scale solar, battery storage, and high-voltage substation projects from notice of award through mobilization with an accent on estimating, contract negotiation, procurement, scheduling, and project controls. Focus on directing preconstruction services, negotiating subcontract bid packages, developing safety and QA/QC plans, and coordinating owners, engineers, subcontractors, and project teams.

Location: Hybrid with regular in-office presence in San Diego, California, or remote initially with regular in-office presence in Denver, Colorado.

Salary: $141,590–$176,987 per year

What you will do

  • Manage multiple or large, complex construction projects from notice of award through mobilization.
  • Estimate project costs, establish budgets and contract prices, and support estimating activities.
  • Negotiate subcontractor agreements, material purchases, contract conditions, and subcontract bid packages.
  • Coordinate procurement, shop drawing approvals, material delivery, scheduling, cost control, and project reporting.
  • Develop safety and QA/QC plans with the Safety, Quality, and field management teams.
  • Lead, train, and supervise project teams while maintaining relationships with owners, engineers, and subcontractors.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
  • 8–10 years of field construction management experience, including supervisory experience.
  • Leadership, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Drafting and computer skills, with knowledge of contract law and project accounting.
  • Thorough understanding of scheduling, cost control, procurement, estimating, and other project management control systems.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement with regular in-office presence in San Diego, CA, or Denver, CO.
