Purchasing Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Caojing, Shanghai, China; standard full-time schedule at the manufacturing site. Up to 20–30% domestic travel within China may be required for supplier visits, inspections, and manufacturing support.

What you will do

• Execute purchase orders for ASU manufacturing materials, equipment, spare parts, consumables, PPE supplies, and plant operating services.
• Source and qualify suppliers, prepare inquiry packages, evaluate bids, and develop negotiation and award strategies.
• Negotiate commercial terms and prepare purchase orders, contracts, and agreements with complete technical specifications.
• Expedite supplier deliveries and monitor order progress against manufacturing schedules.
• Resolve supplier quality issues with Quality and Production teams and measure supplier performance.
• Maintain procurement records, identify supply risks, recommend mitigation actions, and prepare purchasing reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 4 years of procurement or purchasing experience in industrial manufacturing or EPC project environments.
• Working knowledge of procurement processes, contracts, and supplier management.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and standard office applications.
• Clear communication and effective collaboration in multidisciplinary and multicultural environments.
• Ability to work on-site in Caojing, Shanghai, and support a full-time manufacturing schedule.

Nice to have

• Experience with pressure equipment, piping, mechanical packages, or ASU-related materials.
• Familiarity with international sourcing and supplier quality management.
• Experience with multinational companies, fabrication shops, or manufacturing facilities.
