Fundamental Skills Clinical Nursing Instructor

Location: Chicago, IL, USA; in-person clinical teaching at an inpatient clinical setting

Compensation: $1,120–$7,245 per assignment, depending on education and experience.

What you will do

• Mentor BSN students during their first clinical experiences and connect classroom and simulation learning with patient care.
• Implement the nursing curriculum, course objectives, and program outcomes through clinical teaching.
• Plan clinical experiences, supervise students directly, and evaluate their nursing skills and performance.
• Create clinical assignments, provide documented feedback, and support student remediation when needed.
• Coordinate with inpatient clinical-site personnel regarding policies, procedures, expectations, and student concerns.
• Contribute to program development, assessment, retention efforts, and college policies; may also teach simulation, skills lab, or didactic content under supervision.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Nursing.
• At least two years of registered nursing practice experience within the last five years.
• Professional nurse licensure in Illinois is required.
• Excellent communication skills, initiative, and prudent judgment.
• Ability to work scheduled clinical shifts, typically three to four consecutive 12-hour shifts over one to two weeks per eight-week session.
