TL;DR
Material Planner (Aerospace): Managing and coordinating material flow, inventory, procurement, production releases, and shipments for aerospace and defense manufacturing with an accent on ERP-based planning, supply chain coordination, and inventory accuracy. Focus on resolving material risks, supporting audits and corrective actions, coordinating cross-functional priorities, and driving continuous improvement through Lean and Kaizen activities.

Location: Moorpark, California, United States; onsite

Salary: $65,000–$90,000 per year

What you will do

  • Manage material flow and inventory movement from customer order through production and shipment.
  • Review supply and demand in ERP/MRP systems and establish material requirements for production.
  • Coordinate raw material receipt, inventory allocation, shop orders, material kits, and point-of-use materials.
  • Maintain inventory transaction records, including Customer Furnished Property, and support receiving inspection and X-ray priorities.
  • Arrange shipments, prepare packing slips, and coordinate logistics with internal functions and customers.
  • Lead inventory audits, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, training, and continuous improvement activities.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in materials management, logistics, and planning.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of configuration management, supply chain, material control, manufacturing, and shipping processes.
  • Experience with import/export requirements and international shipping.
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong planning, organization, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret work orders and technical documentation.

Nice to have

  • Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing concepts.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field.
