TL;DR
Technical Lead (Design Manager) (Construction Design and VDC): Bridging design, construction, and development teams to deliver executable, operationally sound multifamily projects with an accent on constructability, risk management, value analysis, and site logistics. Focus on coordinating BIM/VDC workflows, resolving feasibility and utility constraints, aligning long-lead submittals with construction documents, and planning site phasing.
Location: Dallas Office, Dallas, TX; physical co-location required five days per week, Monday–Friday

What you will do
- Lead constructability reviews, design risk assessments, risk registers, and mitigation plans across design milestones.
- Bridge design, construction, development, operations, property management, and facilities teams to translate operational requirements into construction documents.
- Evaluate alternative systems and materials, support Best Value decisions, and validate lifecycle cost and constructability benefits.
- Support BIM/VDC coordination, clash detection, sequencing, layout planning, and model compliance across disciplines.
- Coordinate long-lead submittals, vendor shop drawings, prefabrication specifications, and documentation gap resolution.
- Develop site logistics and phasing plans, validate takt zones, coordinate subcontractor pre-approvals, and track long-lead items.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- 6–10 years of experience in design management and construction, preferably in multifamily development.
- Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, drawing details, logistics planning, site phasing, utility coordination, and constructability assessments.
- Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Oracle Primavera Cloud, AutoCAD, Revit, and VDC/BIM tools.
- Strong leadership and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Availability for daily collaboration and physical co-location in the Dallas office.
