Revit Assistant Manager

Location: Houston, TX (TAS-Cullen HQ); onsite, full-time

What you will do

• Support lead designers on moderate to complex packaged-equipment and construction-documentation projects from turnover through release.
• Create, modify, check, and approve coordinated Revit models, construction drawings, views, sheets, schedules, details, annotations, and families.
• Model and document structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, and controls systems while addressing constructability, installation access, maintenance clearances, manufacturing constraints, and applicable codes.
• Plan workloads, estimate labor, track deliverables and progress, communicate risks and scope changes, and coordinate with engineering, project management, supply chain, manufacturing, and quality stakeholders.
• Supervise, assign, coach, mentor, and evaluate design and drafting personnel while supporting hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management.
• Develop and enforce Revit, BIM, drafting, model-management, checking, documentation, and configuration-control standards.

Requirements

• 8+ years of relevant mechanical, structural, piping, electrical, controls, BIM, or packaged-equipment design experience, including substantial hands-on Revit experience.
• At least 2 years of experience leading, supervising, mentoring, or coordinating design and drafting personnel.
• Experience producing and checking coordinated Revit models, construction and manufacturing-level drawings, schedules, details, and controlled design documentation.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, process flow diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, redlines, layouts, and customer design inputs.
• Working knowledge of NEC, IEC, ASME, ANSI, AISC, AWS, UMC, OSHA, building codes, and other project-specific standards.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in drafting, design, engineering technology, or a related field is preferred.

Nice to have

• Data center or modular packaged-equipment design experience.
• Experience managing Revit families, templates, shared parameters, schedules, worksets, linked models, and model standards.
• Experience with Infor LN or a comparable ERP system.
• Additional proficiency with AutoCAD, Navisworks, SolidWorks, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or equivalent tools.
• Experience developing training materials, KPIs, model-checking workflows, cloud collaboration, clash detection, and quality-control processes.
